The Ugly Sweater: digital party invitation
Knit, get judged, come. The uglier the better.
An ugly Christmas sweater party for twenty-somethings, in a basement bar. At the top sits a knitting machine: a sweater made of stitches you tap or drag across with your finger to knit, with five balls of wool to pick from (red, cream, gold, green, blue). Or let the machine knit a pattern, row by row with a needle that slides along: reindeer, snowflake, Christmas tree, or unravel everything. The sleeves colour along in stripes of your most used wool. Done? The jury gives a score out of ten with a snarky verdict (colours, stitches, ugliness), and the invitation appears as a knitted card in pixel letters. Also: the programme (sweater check, cheesy hits quiz, secret santa under ten euros, the ceremony), the jury criteria, practical details with the night bus, and an RSVP where your knitted sweater hangs on the clothesline with a name tag and sways gently. Snow falls, the rest is ugly.
