Inviting

How to make a digital invitation: start here

· 3 min read

A digital invitation is a personal page with its own link: your guests open it on their phone, read who, what, where and when, and reply right away. You make one in five steps: you pick a style, you fill in your text and photos, you switch on the reply button, you share one link and you follow the replies. It costs less than printing and you can still change it after sending. Below is every step, with what you need to know.

1. Pick a style that fits the party

A good style says something before your guests read: festive, understated, playful, chic. Look at the style on a phone, because that is where most of your guests open the invitation. At YourInvited there are 125 styles in the collection, each with a live demo you can touch, for weddings, birthdays, baby showers, communions, company events and every other celebration.

2. Fill in your text and your photos

The style stays, the content becomes yours. What goes in:

  • Who is inviting and for what.
  • The date, the time and the venue, with the address.
  • The programme, if there are several moments.
  • Practical: parking, children, dress code, a gift tip.
  • One or more photos: of you, of the birthday person, of the baby.

3. Switch on the RSVP and pick a deadline

The reply button is what makes a digital invitation different from a photo of a card. Pick the date you have to know the numbers and add a week. Ask what you want to know: with how many, which part of the day, dietary needs. Plan the reminder for whoever does not reply right along with it.

4. Share one link

You publish and get one link. You put it in the group chat, send it by email, or put it as a QR code on a printed card. If you want to know per guest who opened and replied, you send every guest a personal link. Everything you change later (a new time, an extra parking tip), your guests see on the same link.

5. Follow the replies

The replies arrive in one place. You see who is coming, who is not and who has not said anything yet, and you pass on the numbers without counting. After the party the same page can be where the guests' photos come together and where they leave a message.

What it costs

At YourInvited you start for free, with up to 25 invited guests per event; a free event disappears 14 days after the day of your party. A Lite style costs €4,99 once per event (up to 100 guests), a Pro style €7,99 (up to 250). Modules such as the Disposable camera (€9,99), the Gift list (€9,99) or Invite via WhatsApp and SMS (€4,99) are bought separately, per event. Those who organise often take a subscription.

Frequently asked questions

Do my guests need an app or an account?

No. The invitation opens in the browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. Guests tap the link, read and reply. Nothing to install, nothing to create.

Can I still change the invitation after sending it?

Yes. You change the text, the photos or the programme, and everyone who opens the link sees the new version. So a change of time or address does not have to be sent round again; a short message about it is still the polite thing to do.

Which languages can the invitation be in?

Every style exists in Dutch and English. You pick the language of your invitation; the texts you write yourself, you write in whatever language you like.

How long does it take to make one?

Half an hour for a simple invitation: pick a style, write the text, choose photos, publish. A wedding invitation with programme, route and gift list takes an evening. You can save in between and carry on later.

Make your own invitation?

Pick a style, add your own text and photos and share one link. Starting is free; a paid style costs €4,99 or €7,99 once, per event.
