The Fridge Door: digital birthday invitation
It is all on the fridge. Tap a note loose.
Grandma Rita turns 80, and the invitation is her fridge. Five notes hang on the door under a magnet: a postcard from Blankenberge, a child’s drawing, an old polaroid, a recipe card and a voucher for a big hug. Tap one and the magnet drops while the note flutters off the door; what was on it appears below: when, where, who, what there is to eat and which gift grandma wants. Pull the handle and the door swings open: the little light flickers on, cold mist rolls out and you tap the cake, the cava, the rice pudding and a jar of pickles from 2019. Leave the door open too long and the fridge starts beeping. Every magnet letter can be dragged around, and a cold dial frosts the page until the magnets shiver. With magnet words you build a wish for grandma that goes straight into your reply. The programme is a list to tick off, the practical details are on sticky notes. Everyone who replies goes up on the door in coloured magnet letters.
The demo opens in a new tab, with sample text and sample photos.
